Travel Badge #13 Trip 3

Travel Badge #13 - Virginia /Pennsylvania
November 2012

On the way to PA, we stopped at the Frontier Culture Museum in Staunton, VA.  The museum is reconstructed, historic farms from Germany, N. Ireland, England and Virgina during the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.

We went to the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, PA.

There was a hands-on area.  We experimented with weights and pulleys.  I tried wheel chair racing.

We looked at the Liberty Bell.

This where the second Constitutional Convention was held.

We passed the Betsy Ross house on our walking tour.

We went to Valley Forge.  It is where George Washington's army camped 1877-78.

The windows at Washington Memorial Chapel at Valley Forge had fancy, detailed designs.

Travel Badge #13 Trip 2

August 2012 - Tennessee Trip
Travel badge #13

In July 2012 we went to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, TN.  One of the days we were there we went horseback riding.

We took a day trip to Cherokee, NC.  We toured an Indian Village.  While we were there, we saw an Indian dance.

At the visitor center in Cherokee we saw this elk.

We spent a few days at Dollywood.  We road rides and went to the water park, Splash Country.  The wave pool was a blast.
Another place we visited was the Titanic Museum.  It a replica of Titanic ship.  I got to see what some of the rooms would have looked like.

On the trip home we stopped at Mt. Mitchell, the highest point east of the Mississippi.

This bear was on the side of the road on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Travel Badge #13 - Trip 1

June 2012 - Brush Gardens, Williamsburg, VA
Travel Badge #13

My family and I traveled to Williamsburg, VA.  While we were there, we went to Bush Gardens for a few days.  My sister and my Dad went on all of the roller coasters.  My Mom and me just hung out in the kiddie area and did some other rides.  The reason why I did not go on the roller coasters was because I do not like heights and they where very fast.  When we were there, we look at some Clydesdale.  There was a cute baby Clydesdale foal with its mommy.  We had lunch there and got some t-shirts.

My sister, my Dad and I went on a ride called Pompeii.  We went on it many, many times.  It was my favorite ride there because we got soaked over and over and over again.  My Mom did not want to ride it because she did not want to be wet on the way back to the condo.  When we were leaving, my sister and I stood in the splash zone for a few minutes and got soaked to the skin.  Then we headed back to the condo for the night.  That's some of what we did at Bush Gardens in Williamsburg, VA.
